About Ziminvest

The Ziminvest blog is a project of Oxley Consulting.

Mark Oxley is an independent consultant working in the field of economic policy analysis and private sector development. He has taken part in studies on behalf of the World Bank and the Centre for International Private Enterprise, as well as other local and international clients. He also works with projects in the field of agribusiness, providing business and financial management planning services and providing advice and assistance on sourcing finance for these projects. Recent projects on which he has worked include a small-scale dairy project and the resuscitation of a dormant piggery and abattoir.

He is the Chairman of the Management Committee of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Development Trust, an organisation established to provide cheap capital to businesses in the smallholder farming value chain. Capital provided to ZADT has come from international donor agencies including SNV, the Netherlands Development Organisation, and DANIDA, the Danish International Development Agency.

He was formerly the Vice-Chairman of the American Business Association of Zimbabwe (ABAZ), and he organised three successful economic forums on behalf of ABAZ under the theme “Just Business”. These forums, held in 2007, 2008 and 2010, brought international speakers to Zimbabwe to discuss economic policy initiatives that would assist in creating a better business climate in the country.

He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Institute of Directors Zimbabwe and is also a member of the Steering Committee of the Project for the Development of a National Code of Corporate Governance for Zimbabwe. He has a continuing interest in corporate governance.
